This is another piece I’m working on, I decided to do something completely different, something I wanted to do for myself.
It’s a video game screenshot from Halo, which I love to play, and I’m going for a cell-shaded/comic book look to it.

I can’t wait to get this one finished and put it up on my wall!

As I mentioned in my last post I’m part of my local SALA art exhibition in Mannum again this year, which started August 3rd, and runs through until September.
On display is a variety of artwork by local artists, with the theme for this year being
“Water- Our Life Source”

This is the piece I produced for the exhibition, titled “Genesis”.
It was a first for me in a few ways, the piece is on an old poster-board painted white, rather than canvas, the smoother texture meant I was able to include a little more detailed.
I also decided partway through to use colour; instead of just charcoal and white chalk I also used coloured chalk and pastels.
It was definitely more of a challenge, but I’m fairly happy with the result.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited to take part in this years SALA exhibition again this year.

The exhibition is at the Arnold Gallery at the Mannum Dock Museum, 4 Randell Street, Mannum, and will run from August 4th - September 3rd, 10am - 4pm daily.

Getting back to my art finally, had some good news recently;
Sold my koala canvas this week, which was great, thank you again Maxine at River Newsagency, and I’ve also been invited to be part of the local SALA exhibition again this year, coming up in August.
Hopefully I’ll be a lot more active here from now on!
