Rockin Our Abilities

Rockin Our Abilities Music and drama programme for people with disabilities in our regional area. Bringing joy, social networking through music 🎡 Mondays 55 Gore St Murgon .

Wednesday Lutheran Church Hall Markwell St Kingaroy during QLD school Rockin Our Abilities is a music/drama programme for people with disabilities, living in regional QLD in the South Burnett region. Rockin Our Abilities was formed back in 2021, out of a need for a safe place with social involvement and activities for the with disabilties - Something very much lacking in our region. All of our par

ticipants thrive in the setting and it is truly the hi-light of their week. Music is the thread that binds us all. We are fortunate to have a very talented young guitarist/drummer with autism who is the backbone of our Live Band called R.O.A.R (Rockin Our Abilities Regional). Jarrod Edwards is surrounded by support workers who also play instruments and so a band was formed. Twice yearly we put on a few community concert at 55 Gore Street Murgon to showcase the diverse group and all the skills that have been taught. The community are always so thrilled and everybody loves them. It is a true stage show where all participants get the chance to shine. Rockin Our Abilities is self-funded. We fundraise at all our events with raffles and a sausage sizzle. We have been blessed with sponsorship from the start and welcome any help. We are auspiced by a Non for Profit group called The Graham House Community Centre based in Murgon. Our concerts are filmed so please check them out on Youtube - Rockin Our Abilities.

Missed the Concert? We've Got You Covered! 🎢

If you weren't able to join us for our Mid-Year Concert, here's a special treat for you!

This is "Rockin' Our Abilities" .... our very own theme song that captures the heart, spirit and joy of our amazing program.

We pre-recorded this performance during rehearsals a few weeks before the concert and are excited to share it with you while we prepare the full concert video for release.

The song celebrates friendship, music, inclusion and the incredible people who make Rockin' Our Abilities such a special place to be.

So sit back, turn up the volume, and enjoy our theme song!

Missed the Concert? We've Got You Covered! 🎢

If you weren't able to make it to our Mid-Year Concert today, here's another one of the crowd favourites from the day!

"Donkey Bronson" was written by our Music Director, Chris Wenner, and has become a much-loved Rockin' Our Abilities original. 🐴🎸

We pre-recorded this performance a few weeks before the concert during rehearsals, and we're excited to share it with you while we wait for the full concert video to be edited and ready for release.

This music video features plenty of fun, laughter, music and a few famous donkey hee-haws along the way, capturing the joy, friendship and spirit that Rockin' Our Abilities is all about. πŸ’™

Sit back, turn up the volume, and enjoy!

Missed the Concert? We've Got You Covered! 🎢

If you weren't able to join us at the Murgon Town Hall for our Mid-Year Concert held earlier today, we wanted to share one of the very special performances from the day.

This is "Where I Belong", a beautiful original song written by David Shortland especially for Donna.

We actually recorded this performance a few weeks before the concert during rehearsals, and we're so glad we did. The song highlights the incredible talent, dedication and friendships that make Rockin' Our Abilities such a special program.

Sit back, have a listen, and enjoy this wonderful collaboration between David, Donna and our amazing band and performers.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the concert, supported our performers, purchased raffle tickets, volunteered their time, and helped make the day such a success.
