The planning phase continues and we are still working on the many reports and designs that we need to collate to go to Council and Heritage NSW. It's all coming together slowly and we'll let you know when we are ready to take the next big steps with the restoration.

It’s Sticky Beak time!

For those of you who have missed out on our Sticky Beak Sessions up to now, the doors of the Regent Theatre will be open again on Saturday 6 June. Yes, that’s the Saturday of the long weekend.

The Theatre has been closed for WAY too long and we realise there are many people in the community who have never seen inside the Theatre. We want to fix that so everyone has a clear picture of the huge refurbishment project ahead and a little opportunity to reminisce.

Our Sticky Beak Sessions will allow you to have a quick look inside, to see what state it is in at the moment, and refurbishment works as they progress.

These tours will be SHORT – only around 20minutes – and they will be guided. You cannot explore every area of the Theatre at this stage. While the building is still a bit of a work in progress, we want to ensure that everyone stays safe.

Book Your Tickets Here: https://www.trybooking.com/DLLOP

Cost: FREE

What to Bring: A face mask. No mask, no entry! Please wear enclosed shoes/solid footwear.

And, if you book tickets and can no longer attend, PLEASE let us know. We do keep a waitlist and always have other people keen to wander through the doors.

We look forward to sharing this gem of a building with you.

We have been doing a tonne of talking lately to all sorts of acoustic, staging, and engineering people. What we weren't expecting was to dust off our rusty Spanish (I can really only order 'two beers please') and say 'hola' to Rodrigo Garcia-Infante, the Export Area Manager for Ascender Seating, Ezcaray Spain.

We have been chatting with Marlon from Starena Seating about installing a more comfortable seating system and were very pleased with Marlon asked if he could bring Rodrigo to Mudgee for a special visit. We made sure to gift him a tasty souvenir. Thanks Huntington Estate Wines

Thanks Rodrigo for visiting the Regent Theatre and Mudgee.

How many times do you think the Theatre has been vacuumed, swept and mopped in the last 60-70 years? And yet, these little blighters (one much newer than the other) managed to escape capture!

Thank goodness we enjoy our movies smoke-free these days.
Have a good day everyone.

A little bit of black and white nostalgia courtesy of National Real Estate Mudgee who took this photo one of the many times the Theatre came up for auction/sale over the last 20years or so. There are even lights in the wall fittings!

One day soon we will have her looking s***k and span again...

People often look a bit quizzical when we ask for their copies of any old Theatre photos they may have, even from simple things like school presentation nights.

As you may be aware most of the Theatre's memorabilia, signs etc has disappeared over the years and we want to have them redesigned and back in their rightful place.

Many thanks to Robert Weismantel for sending through these photos from his visit way back in 1986. It clearly shows what used to adorn the Ticket Booth as well as the old Admission Price sign.

Now to get them made up again...

While we have been a bit quiet in the public space, we have been poking around inside and getting a few fiddly jobs done. One of the things that needed doing was to take down the ripped and torn screen.

It was a bit of a delicate job, but with the use of Mark's cherry picker (doesn't every man have one??), down came the old, vandalised screen.

And now to get a quote for a new one...
