Screenworks has opened applications for New Kids on the Block as part of Regional to Global 2026!

This grass roots program provides a dedicated support system for emerging film and television practitioners attending the screen industry forum in Lennox Head - just 15 minutes from Byron Bay - for the first time.

Backed by by Screen NSW, South Australian Film Corporation and Screen Canberra, New Kids on the Block this year will select nine regionally based practitioners - five from NSW, two each from South Australia and the ACT - providing financial and on-the-ground support to attend Regional to Global on 9 & 10 September.

If you're an emerging film and television practitioner this is your chance to be empowered to take your first confident steps into the industry! You'll have access to the vibrant regional screen community, engaging conversations with thought leaders and decision makers and easy networking including the Netflix Opening Night Drinks!

This year’s program features an animated film called The Fix-It Man and The Fix-It-Wooman.

A gentle, funny tale of love and connection is built under the bright lights of Alice Springs, as two soft sculptures find each other through discovering a shared talent, featuring artwork by Yarrenyty Arltere Artists.
