Through our recent union with Riverlink Disability Services we offer an expanded suite of NDIS services, one of those being short-term accommodation and respite services.

At SydWest, our Children’s Respite is more than just a short stay. It's a home-like environment where children can:

* draw on a chalkboard wall
* play on a trampoline or swings
* build confidence and make new friends

It's where children receive individualised support.

Just a reminder that our "Looking to start a career in the construction industry" Information Session is happening later this week.

This is your chance to learn more about a FREE 6-week Job Readiness for the Construction Industry program delivered by TAFE NSW in partnership with SydWest and Glascott.

You will gain valuable industry communication skills, learn workplace terminology and safety requirements, and receive practical training in bricklaying and landscape construction. Learning resources and basic PPE are also provided.

Your language, your voice, your SBS

SBS’s Language Services Review is now open for public consultation, and Australia’s diverse communities are invited to have their say on the future of SBS Audio.

Every five years, in line with the Census, SBS reviews which languages it services and how. This time, SBS wants your views on the draft Selection Criteria. Together with 2026 Census data, it will decide which languages get serviced for the next five years across radio, podcasting, digital TV and other digital platforms.

Submissions are open 5 October to 13 November 2026

Fun, friendship and community connection!

Our Arabic Speaking Social Group and Civic Class recently enjoyed a great day out at the Penrith International Regatta Centre, bringing people together for social connection, laughter and fun. Families joined us during the school holidays, with some travelling by bus and others making their own way to the venue.

The day included refreshments, games, lucky door prizes and a valuable fire safety session delivered by our volunteer, Amisha and Settlement Case Worker, Mervat.

Thanks to everyone for making this excursion a great experience for everyone and we look forward to seeing you at our next social group get-together.
