This is a POTENTIALLY ⚠️ CONTROVERSIAL post 🫣 My goal isn’t intended to ruffle feathers but rather to educate and inform. This video has been a long time coming and I felt like I could not keep silent for any longer.
Why do I only cover 1/4-1/3 of a charcuterie/ cheese timber board?

It’s not because I’m cheap and don’t want to use more resin. Although quality resin can be expensive, that’s not why.

I want you to be able to use your decorative yet functional board as much as possible.

SOME resin’s are food safe but NO epoxy resin pigment pastes or powders are. I’m specifically referring to pastes and pigments designed as resin colorants. Even when they are in their cured state within the resin. I’ve spent many hrs researching this over the years and you should be able to find this information on any reputable manufacturers website.

So epoxy resin products are incidental food contact safe, meaning if your favourite cheese touches it for a minute, it’s fine. But at no stage should you store, serve or cut on your resin. If you do wish to serve on it, then just place a piece of parchment paper or napkin under your food item.

This incidental contact principle applies to all resin products created with epoxy pigment pastes and powders not just cheese boards.

Recently I said goodbye to this clock. I was one of my all time favourites 🤍 but I’m so happy that someone else fell in love with it and chose it.
