It’s opening tonight! 🦉✨

A big congratulations to all the finalists in the Regional Art Prize The Corner Store Gallery | Orange NSW | Established 2014 — I’m thrilled to have my painting Two Hoots Teatime for Owl Lovers hanging amongst 73 talented works.

The exhibition opens tonight at 6pm, and while I can’t be there in person, I’ll be raising a glass from afar to all the artists, the gallery and this wonderful celebration of regional art. 🥂🎨

And from this evening, Two Hoots Teatime for Owl Lovers will be available to purchase.

73 artworks, plenty of talent… and at least two hoots. 🦉🦉💚

Thrilled to be a finalist in The Corner Store Gallery | Orange NSW | Established 2014 Regional Art Prize 2026. ✨✨✨✨

Since establishing Stables Studios at Throsby Park in the Southern Highlands, I’ve deeply valued the regional arts community. This is my first time entering, making the selection especially meaningful.

Congratulations to all finalists—this exhibition highlights the breadth and talent of regional artists across Australia.

Looks like word has spread… 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘

Just as the sun slipped below the horizon this evening, around a dozen large kangaroos arrived at Stables Studios as if they had RSVP’d for golden hour.

They paused, looked around as though inspecting the place, grazed peacefully on the lawn, and seemed completely at home. I couldn’t help wondering if they were checking in to see what I’d been painting today.

One of the unexpected joys of being here in the Southern Highlands is sharing this beautiful place with its true locals. Some visitors arrive by car… others arrive with very powerful legs!

I’m pretty sure this is going to become one of my favourite evening rituals.

Nature has the best timing. ❤️

What a wonderful surprise to receive this beautiful handmade gift today from the incredibly talented Louise Nade . 💛

Lou is truly the queen of transforming second-hand and found materials into the most beautiful objects. Her work is a wonderful reminder that creativity and thoughtful, sustainable living can go hand in hand—consuming less, reusing more, and seeing beauty in what already exists.

I’m so touched by your generosity. It couldn’t be a more perfect studio and home-warming gift. Thank you, Lou—I absolutely love it. ✨

I just had to share this misty morning at Stables Studios.

Every morning here has its own quiet beauty, but today was something special. As the sun slowly broke through the veil of mist, the paddocks seemed to glow from within. It was one of those fleeting moments that makes you stop, breathe deeply and simply look.

Gorgeous is a word I seem to be using a lot lately… but some mornings really do deserve it. ✨
