With great pleasure, NR Productions and Frankston Arts Centre can announce that our RAISE THE CURTAIN event last Thursday raised a total of $11,630 for local artists and companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic 🎉🎉🎉

We are thrilled with the result, and proceeds will be distributed and donated to the performers featured on the evening, as well as local companies PLOS Musical Productions and Panorama Theatre Company Inc.

A massive thank you to our host for the evening, Jimmy Rees, as well as performers Angela Scundi, Bella Paige, Danielle O'Malley, Euan Doidge, Hannah Webb-Glass, Joseph Naim, Kala Gare, Mitchell Smith, Mollie Williams, Natalie O'Donnell, Nicola Codd, Nigel Huckle, Samm Hagen and Simon Gleeson, accompanied by the incomparable Sam Loomes on piano 🙏

Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to the team that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring our event to your living rooms: Danny Ginsberg, Daragh Wills, Jade Rooney, Lachie McFarlane, Leane Maddren and Tori Fogarty, as well as the teams at Frankston Arts Centre, PLOS Musical Productions, Panorama Theatre Company, Colossal Films, James Terry Collective and The Choc Top Ice Cream Co 🙏

With further restrictions now in place, we were very lucky to have brought you this night of entertainment, all of which would have been impossible without the generous help and talent of the above individuals and companies - so, thank you.

🌟 Bella Paige has had an amazing career at the age of eighteen, having been Australia's first representative at Junior Eurovision (2015), runner-up on both The Voice Kids (2015) and most recently,. Season 7 of The Voice Australia (2018). Bella released her single 'Changing' in 2018.

🌟 Euan Doidge is a sought-after Australian musical theatre performer with an abundance of credits to his name. Audiences may remember his performances as Tony in 'Saturday Night Fever', Felicia in 'Priscilla: Queen of the Desert', Marius in 'Les Misérables', covering the role of Lola in 'Kinky Boots', or as Paul in 'A Chorus Line', a performance that garnered him a Helpmann nomination.

During our live stream of RAISE THE CURTAIN, multi-faceted pianist and musical director Sam Loomes will tickle the ivories alongside our stellar line-up of vocalists. We will also be joined by performers from local companies PLOS Musical Productions and Panorama Theatre Company Inc. (Mollie Williams, Mitchell Smith, Nicola Codd & Hannah Webb-Glass), and better yet, a percentage of proceeds from the event will be donated directly to these companies!

🌟 Sam Loomes is a pianist/conductor based in Melbourne. Most recently, he was working as the Associate Music Director on 'Shrek The Musical', before the tour was cut short as a result of COVID-19. Prior to that, he was the Music Director for 'Bring It On The Musical' in Sydney and Perth. He is looking forward to getting the chance to perform live music again and help support the arts industry alongside some incredible performers.

🌟 PLOS Musical Productions has a proud history of over forty years of presenting high quality theatrical productions. Prior to the recent shutdown of most theatres, they were due to present 'Hello, Dolly!' to Frankston audiences in July 2020. Throughout the years, they have continually entertained their audiences with the very best musical theatre. They are very proud to stage their productions twice a year at the Frankston Arts Centre, with recent productions including 'Mamma Mia!', 'Les Misérables', 'Shrek the Musical', 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'The Little Mermaid'.

🌟 Panorama Theatre Company has a proud 37 year history of delighting audiences whilst supporting young people to explore the medium of theatre as a vehicle for personal development, friendship or as a potential career. Just weeks from the opening night of their April 2020 production of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', Panorama announced their postponement of the production due to the closure of theatres nationwide. The Panorama team foster a passion for excellence and aim to present the best possible performances to their audiences in a professional theatre. Recent productions at the Frankston Arts Centre include 'The Producers', 'Rock of Ages', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Seussical' and 'Grease'.

🌟 Simon Gleeson is best known for his acclaimed interpretation of Jean Valjean in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Les Miserables for which he received the 2015 Helpmann award for Best Male Actor in a Musical. His further stage credits include 'Shout', 'Mamma Mia!', 'Chess' and 'Love Never Dies', as well as several credits on UK and Australian television. Simon also appeared in productions of 'The Far Pavillions' and 'Imagine This' on London's West End.

🌟 Nat O'Donnell was most recently seen as Donna in the Australian tour of 'Mamma Mia!', which earned her both Helpmann Award and Green Room Award nominations. Other notable musical theatre credits include 'Songs for a New World', 'Next to Normal', 'Crazy for You' and 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'.

🌟 Nigel Huckle is an internationally-acclaimed actor, having performed in venues across the world, notably with Australian platinum-selling group "The Ten Tenors", the international touring company of Cameron Mackintosh's new production of 'Les Misérables', and alternating the role of Tony with the international touring company of 'West Side Story' at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

🌟 Samm Hagen is quickly establishing herself as one of Australia’s most versatile and up and coming musical theatre performers. She is best known for her role as Elle Woods in 'Legally Blonde' recent Melbourne production which earned her a Green Room Nomination. Other credits include 'Priscilla: Queen of the Desert', 'Kinky Boots' and 'Ghost'. Recently, Samm was announced as part of the cast of the Australian tour of Frozen, covering the role of Elsa.

🌟 Angela Scundi is no stranger to the Frankston stage, having performed many school productions and a production of 'Paris' in 2004. Since then, she has continued to perform professionally in productions of 'Into the Woods', 'Spring Awakening', and most recently, starred as Miss Flannery in The Production Company's 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'.

🌟 Joseph Naim has been the front man for numerous pop/soul/rock bands in Melbourne since he was 19. He has toured with international group "The Ten Tenors", which took him all over Australia, USA, Canada, Europe and parts of Asia. His most recent musical theatre credits include Australian productions of 'The Lion King', 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical', 'Jersey Boys' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.

🌟 Kala Gare is a Melbourne-based singer, actor, musician and songwriter, who has most recently taken to the stage in the hit musical 'Six', starring in the role of Boleyn. Other music theatre credits include Alice in 'Thoroughly Modern Millie', Maureen in 'Rent' and Alice in the critically-acclaimed Steve Martin musical 'Bright Star' at Chapel off Chapel.

🌟 Danielle O'Malley is a performer-composer in the Australian musical theatre and cabaret scenes. Since making her professional debut in 'Cabaret' at Singapore's Esplanade Theatre, she has performed and toured in many of Australia's large-scale musicals. Credits include 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', two national tours of 'South Pacific', 'The Rocky Horror Show', the Australian premiere of 'First Date' and the new Australian musical 'Antarctica'.
