Dyce Energy is a busy, locally owned Heavy Diesel Mechanical business based in Moranbah and Clermont, servicing a range of heavy vehicles, machinery and equipment.

We are looking for a reliable and organised Casual Office / Parts Administration person to join our team in Moranbah and provide support across the day-to-day running of the workshop and office.

About the Role
This is a hands-on administration position suited to someone who enjoys a varied workday and is comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• General office administration and data entry
• Ordering and sourcing parts
• Liaising with parts suppliers and customers
• Receiving and checking parts and deliveries
• Preparing purchase orders
• Processing paperwork and maintaining accurate records
• Assisting with job cards and workshop administration
• Answering phone calls and emails
• Keeping office and parts records organised
• Providing general administrative support to the workshop team
• Other duties as required

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, punctual and well organised
• Confident using computers and Microsoft Office
• Comfortable answering phones and communicating with customers and suppliers
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team
• A good communicator with strong attention to detail
• Able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
• Willing to learn and take initiative
• Comfortable working around a heavy diesel workshop environment

Previous experience in parts, mechanical administration, automotive/heavy equipment or a workshop environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right person.

Dyce Energy is seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our Clermont workshop operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a trade-qualified professional with strong heavy mechanical experience and the ability to drive productivity, safety, and team performance in a fast-paced environment.
Our workshop specialises in heavy diesel mechanical repairs, breakdown response, machine overhauls, diagnostics, and maintenance support for mining, civil, and earthmoving equipment across the Bowen Basin.

About the Role
As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy heavy repair workshop while supporting and mentoring a team of diesel fitters and apprentices. You will ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
Manage daily workshop operations and job scheduling
Lead, mentor, and support workshop personnel
Coordinate heavy mechanical repairs, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
Monitor workshop productivity, quality, and downtime performance
Liaise with customers regarding repair progress and technical issues
Maintain workshop equipment, tooling, and inventory control
Assist with diagnostics and hands-on repairs when required

Skills & Experience
Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic
Previous experience in a workshop leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of heavy earthmoving and mining equipment
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment
Strong communication and leadership abilities

We were pleased to welcome two work experience students from Clermont State High School to our Clermont workshop this week.

It was a great opportunity for them to gain an insight into the day-to-day operations of our workshop, learn about the different trades and career pathways available, and get involved alongside our team.

To make the week even more memorable, they also got to experience ‘Do Rag Friday’!
