PLAY IT FORWARD WELCOMES ALEX MORRIS

We are thrilled and honoured to announce our new Director of Victorian Choir programs for Play It Forward - Alex Morris!

Alex is a multi-talented award-winning conductor, composer, international adjudicator and DJ with a career spanning 15 years, with a deep passion and commitment to music education and choral music.

Alex is now conducting three of our
Play It Forward choir programs in Melbourne - THECHO!R based in Docklands, Choir of Opportunity based in Yarraville & Voices of Footscray Hospital in Footscray.

Play It Forward’s Founding Artistic Director
Jonathon Welch AM said “Alex brings a wonderful joyous energy to his music making, and his fun loving, kind, highly skilled and professional approach brings out the very best in all the singers he works with.

Twenty years on, the ‘choir that inspired the nation’ - the Choir of Hard Knocks created by our founding artistic director - Dr Jonathon Welch AM, continues to shine brightly and will once again come into loungerooms and screens around the world to warm your hearts and show the truly transformational power of music.

The legacy of the Choir of Hard Knocks and the multi award winning ABC documentary is enormous - and Play It Forward exists today because of them with the launch of our newest program just weeks away - Brisbane Street Choir!

We couldn’t be prouder to continue our long association and support of the
Choir of Hard Knocks inspiring work - led by their wonderful co-artistic directors Danielle Matthews & Adam Przewlocki, how are also our wonderful music directors at Voices of Moonee Valley.
