⛔️🐶 NOTICE TO ALL LOCAL AREAS - PARVO OUTBREAK IN MONTO & SURROUNDING AREAS 🐶⛔️

Parvo virus is a fatal disease that can affect dogs of all ages. The disease is highly contagious and can be spread via dog to dog contact, and contact with contaminated faeces, environments or people.

In many cases it can cause profuse vomiting, weight loss and loss of appetite, fever, lethargy and diarrhea.

This disease has a high fatality rate in unprotected dogs, even with veterinary treatments. Vaccinating your dog (puppy & adult) is the most effective way to protect your pet. The recent case we had was in an aged dog, so adults aren't always safe.

Miss Yeti is fully vaccinated and is happy to yap to anyone that may be unsure about their vaccination status, so give the clinic a call.

🐂✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗜𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 ✨🐂

Here's a cheer for the people behind the scenes of the Monto Cattle Drive & Trail Ride. 💙

The ones who spend months planning before a horse is saddled.

The ones who schedule posts, send reminders, answer messages and process nominations.

The ones who organise sponsors, prizes, permits, equipment, toilets, tents and trailers.

The ones who collect hay, set up horse yards, unload supplies and put up marquees.

The ones who light the campfires before sunrise and are still packing up long after everyone else has gone back to their swags.

The ones who cook breakfast in the dark, prepare smoko, stir the golden syrup dumplings and somehow keep everyone fed all weekend.

The ones who sell raffle tickets, balance the books and make sure the bills get paid.

The ones who restock toilet paper, empty bins, wash dishes, fill water drums and tackle all the jobs nobody notices until they don't get done.

The ones who hand out bandages, offer a helping hand, calm nerves, solve problems and support others when things get challenging.

The ones who move cattle, open & close gates, help with horses and make sure riders get home safely.

The ones who volunteer their time, equipment, vehicles, skills and energy simply because they care about this event and our community.

The ones who generously open their property to us — thank you to Peter and Anne-Maree Kirkwood and family for sharing Nestor Vale and making this weekend possible.

The list is endless, and we've probably missed a few.
