Yes, we have been a bit quiet for some time now. Alot has been happening though!

We have recently received these old photographs of The Rex theatre from a very kind born and bred ex local.

We are working hard to 'Save The Rex' 🎥🎥🎥 and bring it back to it's former glory. The theatre is owned by a Charity called The Rex Monto Ltd and can never be sold - only passed on to other Charitable organisations that believe in Arts & Culture.

To put it simply - Monto will forever own The Rex for time immemorial.

Our committed group of volunteers invite you to share your photos, memories, suggestions and ideas. We are currently having a website designed and looking for quotes and images.

Australia Day 2020 Monto Community Event of the Year - ‘The Resurrection’ Gil Jamieson’s exhibition ⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a fabulous start to the year for The Rex! Thankyou Melissa Dowling for the nomination and the community near and far for supporting and encouraging this project.

A special Thankyou to the Jamieson family and our small and dynamic Rex team that worked so tirelessly to bring together an event to never be forgotten.

It's been a fulfilling few weeks since 'Resurrection' - the fabulous community gathering in honour of The Rex and Gil Jamieson.

Since then we have had Colin Boyce MP - Member for Callide visit, Allan Honor Art of Allan Honor - Australian Artist gift us an artwork and Heather Eagleson from BlueWren Connections drop by.

So lovely to see you all. Thanks for connecting and visiting Monto.
