You may have noticed that our rusty barb is a little different to the barb wire you can buy today. This barb wire was originally used by the army in the 1970's when they came to do training exercises in the Allies Creek Forest. When they had finished the exercises, the barb wire was left behind at the local dump. Luke's Dad, Trevor, who worked at the Allies Creek Sawmill at the time, salvaged the wire, took it home and ran it in many of the fences on their property at Monogorilby. These fences have slowly been replaced over time and the rusty barb is now used to make beautiful pieces of garden art. As you can appreciate, this wire is starting to run low so when you buy a rusty piece from us, you can know that it is quite unique.
