We have a small favour to ask…

We are up for Most Popular in Pubs and Clubs at the Latrobe City Business Chamber People’s Choice Awards. We are also hosting the Gala Awards night in October, so losing in our own function room would be a little awkward for everyone involved 😆

17 years ago we won Country Racing Victoria Club of the Year…

it still hasn’t quite sunk in we’ve won it again this year!!!

Anyone who knows the calibre of clubs across this state knows how hard this one is to win. Our sponsors, our volunteers, our board, our team. Every single person had a hand in it.

Local trainer. Local track. Local horse who knows exactly where the winning post is.

Red On Red is trained right here in Moe by John Pascoe, and on 21 July he came out and won the Gippsland Finance Solutions BM66 over 1628m. Heavy track, top weight of 61.5kg, barrier nine in a field of ten. None of it bothered him. He led on the rails, kicked clear at the top of the straight and held them off to the line.

That’s nine career wins now for the big chestnut, with Jason Maskiell in the saddle.

Some horses need a track map. This one’s practically got a postcode.

Still pinching ourselves.

Moe Racing Club has been named Country Racing Victoria Club of the Year, and honestly, we are still taking it in.

The last time this award came to Moe was in 2009 so this one means a lot.

This is not a win for a boardroom. It belongs to the team who set up before sunrise and pack down long after the last race, the volunteers who never once had to be asked twice, the sponsors who back us year after year, the members who make this place what it is, and every single person who walks through the gates on race day.

Thank you. Truly. We could not have done it without you.
Proud to bring this one home to Gippsland.
