Following the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance (CSTD) syllabus, all jazz, ballet and tap students are encouraged to participate in exams, but participation is not compulsory. After exams are finished, teachers and students focus their attention on preparing for the end of year concert; an extravagant event held at Hurstville Entertainment Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity for studen

ts to showcase their talents, and be applauded by their family and friends. Singers, dancers and drama students also have two other opportunities to take to the stage during the year:

• A showcase is staged by singers and dancers in Term 2.
• Drama students put on an original pantomime during Term 3. These are generally low key events put on for parents, so students can show what they have learnt from their respective classes. For almost a decade, Jaksa has taught hundreds of students from Milperra, East Hills, Panania, Picnic Point, Revesby, Padstow, Bankstown, Condell Park, Georges Hall, Chipping Norton, Liverpool and the surrounding suburbs.
