With Christmas just around the corner, be sure to familiarise yourself with the current rules around ebikes, e-scooters and e-skateboards. And make sure your kids not only have appropriate helmets but that they wear them properly. There has been an increasing rise in injuries, permanent brain injuries and death relating to the above powered devices. Stay safe out there.

An 'Old School' quick afternoon session in the Kendall SF. Takes me back to my roots when I started in MTB in the late 80's early 90's. Bombing down fireroads, linking old moto tracks with forestry tracks, flat corners and steep rutted chutes! Glad the bikes have changed since then 🤟

Spent the day in Kempsey out on the trails at the NSW School MTB Series Rd 1, helping out some of the Camden Haven High School kids experiencing the race scene for the first time, they all had a great day out despite the heat. There were 180+ competitors from U7 to U19 in both male and female with some impressive competitors! Schools from Newcastle to Tamworth, to Nambucca were there. So great to see there is strong development with kids in the sport. Flynn, our youngest Club member was getting his first taste of a race day and loved it! Rd2 will be in Awaba. Big shout out to our Club Secretary Pete who runs the MTB program at the High School and gets the kids to and from events👏

Recently had the chance to test out the 'massive' Pizzey Park Pump Track on the Gold Coast. Built by World Trail this track has lines for all levels of experience. A Pump Track and/or Bike Skills Park is one of our projects were advocating for Kendall.

Just back from a whirlwind 6 days to Merimbula on the far south coast of NSW to attend the 2 & a half day MTB Synposium host by Outdoors NSW/ACT. Lots of great talks, Industry heads met, and new connections made. Myself and the VP Jason attended as well as some trail 'research & development' on some the south coasts new and epic MTB Parks🤟.

Other club committee members and I are looking forward to hanging out at the Camden Haven Show this weekend. If you're at the show, look for our stand, come and say hi to find out what's been happening with our club and what is hopefully to occur soon.

Grand openening of the long-awaited skate park for Kendall!! Congratulations to all involved in getting this project done for the kids(big and little!) in our great community 👏 Not just a place for skateboards and scooters, but BMX and DJ bikes ! A great place build up those freestyle BMX skills seen in the recent Olympics 🤟 Get out, have some fun, and don't forget your helmet!

Welcome to the Kendall MTB Club.
We formed a little under 12 months ago to work on providing opportunities for the youth of our area to have somewhere to go with their bikes to ride, socialise and learn some new skills without the need to be driven by parents to designated riding areas.
Riding Bikes is an inclusive sport with many disciplines and recreation opportunities, from toddlers on balance bikes to grandparents being able to get out on a variety of trails with E-bikes.

Outlined below are some of the initiatives already undertaken/in progress.
- Advocacy for more pathways/trails (natural & surfaced) for Connected Communities, with a focus on the Kendall/Camden haven region.
- In talks with PMHC for a dedicated Pump Track in Kendall (similar to the new one built in South Kempsey)
- And in the planning stage to build a Bike Park in the Kendall Showgrounds. The Show Society approached us with the offer to lease an area of the showgrounds for us to operate out of. This isn't a straight forward process, but the committee is working hard to make this a reality. Stay tuned....
- Members of the Kew Kendall Community Network, who have been great supporters.
- Inquiries have been made to Forest Corporation about legal trails in the Kendall State Forest. our request has been denied, but we will still pursue other avenues.
We will continue to keep this page up to date as best as possible with our progress. In the meantime dust off the bike and enjoy the trails and weather!
