This week marks three months of Haveli, and we genuinely can’t believe how quickly the time has gone!

There is something incredibly vulnerable about opening the doors to something you’ve poured so much of yourself into and simply hoping people understand what you’re trying to create.

Three months in, we are so grateful for every person who has walked through those doors and wholeheartedly embraced our vision. You’ve taken classes, shared your art, tried something new, created, connected, collaborated and slowly made this space your own too.

Haveli has already become home to so many beautiful creations, conversations, friendships and moments of curiosity. Seeing the talent and energy that fills these walls every week continues to inspire us and remind us why we started.

We’re still learning, still building and still discovering what Haveli can become, but we’re so excited to do it alongside this little family we’re creating.

Thank you for believing in our vision and being part of its story. Three months down, and so much more to come 🤍

Some of the best creative moments are the ones you never plan.

After Asika’s semi classical class yesterday, we casually shared the choreography with a few of the dancers hanging around. What started as a chat quickly turned into an impromptu workshop, with everyone exploring the piece through the lens of their own training.

While the girls danced the semi classical version, the boys reimagined it through hip hop and contemporary, each creating their own interpretation of the same choreography.

This is exactly what Haveli is about. Staying curious. Asking “what if?”. Looking beyond what’s right in front of you and discovering how one idea can evolve into something completely different through collaboration, conversation and play.

Truly special things happen when artists create together, inspiring one another, and reminding us that there is never only one way to move.

Proof that saying “yes” to something unfamiliar can lead to something pretty special.

Different dance backgrounds, one shared love for movement, and a willingness to learn. This little combo is what our teachers learnt after their very first introduction to Kandyan dance, and it was truly a beautiful experience.

At Haveli’s core, we encourage staying curious, learning from one another, and celebrating every dance style with the same sense of wonder, and we can’t wait to keep sharing with our community and growing together 🙌🏽
