It's alive! 🦖 👽 🔮

Joyful, surprising and deeply human, Lifelike invites schools to rediscover the wonder of puppets, and explore the craft, performance and invention that bring iconic screen characters to life.

Materials from Pinocchio, Jurassic Park, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and The Muppets will all be there.

Teachers: you can visit FREE outside of a school visit with a free teacher membership. All you need is a current VIT card. This is the perfect way to explore how this impactful exhibition will inspire student learning.

Teachers: celebrate the magic of movie puppetry with your students, and get up close with beloved, eerie, and unforgettable characters with a school excursion to Lifelike.

Teachers: do you have students interested in game development?

The ACMI + RMIT Young Creators’ Lab invites 10–16 year olds to show their in-development projects at ACMI, and gather expert industry and audience feedback. Students do not have to be coders or have made a videogame before, this lab is all about communicating a vision for a game idea. This could come in the form of level maps, character designs, gameplay descriptors, story summaries, or even a game demo 🎮 📝

Applications close soon (July 19) with the actual lab dates in November 2026.
