Do you have snails in your pond? Some people like to have them believing they will keep the pond clean. Whille this is somewhat true they don't eat all the algae and debris. I personally like them in the pond and believe they add to the natural ecosystem. Think of them like bees to flowers. When planting a garden bed and choosing flowers, shrubs and trees we can all do our part by introducing species that attract bees and native birds.

Then we have our ponds as sanctuaries for them to refresh. Let's all do our part to reduce emissions and provide sustainability for nature.

The weather is warming and we're coming into Lotus season. I have had my first couple of sprouts for the year in the greenhouse and urn. The pond will not be far behind.

What is the major difference between tending a regular garden to a watergarden? The nibbles on the legs are from fish not mosquitoes! We have some very inquisitive fish in our pond and I aways let out a little squeal when one comes for that first nibble.

Have you ever thought about planting a frog pond? Stick with natives and don't forget your floating plants to help your water levels and give in water protection also.
