Taking a moment out of my social media hiatus to express my solidarity and support. I recognise my privilege as a mixed person in a white presenting body and I don’t want to just avoid racism. I want to be anti-racist and to be a part of the revolution that dismantles the systems built by our ancestors.
I hope the energy and empathy in the world right now is enough to sustain and create change for the long haul. If I ever have children I will teach them about the injustices of the world and tell them they have the power to change it.
Through my work I meet people from all different backgrounds, shapes, sizes and ages. Not only is it irrelevant, it is only a minute fraction of the multi-dimensionality that makes up a human being. As my favourite retired s*x worker and one of my closest friends says, “I don’t see bodies, I see spirits”
