A little burst of sunshine and colour! ☀️🌈

I’ve had so much fun embellishing this Aster & Anne Grace Tote, using a Kawandi-inspired stitching technique, and I just love how it’s turned out!

I used the gorgeous Sunshine fabric collection by Sally Kelly, which is bursting with beautiful, bright colours and fabulous prints. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding some of my favourite WonderFil Fruitti 12wt thread to bring even more colour and texture to the stitching! 🧵💕

I also decided to stencil the gusset in shades of blue, which I think provides the perfect contrast to all those vibrant fabrics. I love how the blue gives the eye a little place to rest while letting the colourful fabrics really shine!

That’s one of the things I love most about embellishing - combining fabrics, threads, colours and techniques to create something a little different. And there’s always room to add just one more stitch! 😂

A little late sharing these photos from our final day of Make & Takes at the Craft & Quilt Fair in Brisbane! Whoops! 😂

What a fabulous few days we had! Once again, I absolutely loved seeing all the gorgeous colour combinations and creative touches everyone chose for their projects. It never ceases to amaze me how everyone can start with the same kit and create something so different! 💕

A HUGE thank you to everyone who popped by our stand, whether it was to join in a Make & Take, have a chat about threads and embellishing, check out our latest goodies or simply say hello! It was wonderful catching up with familiar faces and meeting so many new ones. You all make these events so much fun! 🥰

I’m now back in the office, catching up on all those jobs that seem to multiply while I’m away! 😂

And this afternoon I tackled something I’ve NEVER done before… taking up the sleeves on my son’s suit jacket! 😳

Now, that’s a very different kind of sewing to my usual embellishing adventures! But I’m happy to report that I successfully completed the job, and I’m rather pleased with myself! 😂👏

The only problem? I was so focused on getting it right that I completely forgot to take any before and after photos! You’ll just have to take my word for it! 😂

Another fun-filled day of Make & Takes at the Craft & Quilt Fair in Brisbane!

Once again, I just loved seeing all the gorgeous colour combinations everyone chose for their Glasses Cases! It never ceases to amaze me how we can all start with the same project, yet each one ends up looking so different and unique. That’s the magic of embellishing!

There was plenty of stitching, chatting, laughter and, of course, lots of creativity happening around the table!

A huge thank you to all the lovely ladies who joined me today. I absolutely love sharing my passion for threads and embellishing with you all! 💕

And the fun isn’t over yet, last day tomorrow!

Another day, another fabulous Make & Take session at the Craft & Quilt Fair in Brisbane!

Once again, we had loads of fun stitching, chatting and choosing all sorts of colourful embellishments for our Glasses Cases! I just love seeing the different colour combinations everyone comes up with. So much creativity, and no two are ever the same!

But today was extra special when the lovely Ang popped by to show me her finished Glasses Case, which she only started in yesterday’s Make & Take session! How fabulous is that?! 😍👏

It really does make my day when someone comes back to show me their finished creation. I absolutely love seeing what everyone makes and how they add their own personal touches!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined me today. It’s always such a pleasure sharing a little stitching time with you all! 💗

And the fun isn’t over yet! We’re back again tomorrow for more stitching, chatting and colourful creativity!

The ladies got busy stitching and embellishing their Aster & Anne Glasses Cases, and once again, I was absolutely loving all the gorgeous colour combinations!

I know I keep saying it, but I really do love seeing the colours everyone chooses! It never ceases to amaze me how we can all start with the same project, yet each one ends up looking so different and unique. That’s the wonderful thing about being creative! 😍

Wow, Brisbane, what a fabulous first day!! 🧵

What a whirlwind! From the moment the doors opened at the Craft & Quilt Fair Brisbane, it was pretty much non-stop until almost closing time! And we loved every minute of it!

It was so lovely catching up with so many familiar faces, meeting lots of new ones and, of course, having LOADS of conversations about all things thread! 🧵🪡 There’s nothing quite like sharing our love of stitching, creativity and a little bit of embellishing inspiration!

And the best bit? We get to do it all again tomorrow!

The Craft & Quilt Fair Brisbane is on until Saturday, so there’s still plenty of time to come along, say hello, talk threads and get inspired!

Looking forward to another fabulous day tomorrow! 💕

Another little project finished, and this Luella Clutch has certainly done a bit of travelling! 🌎✈️😂

It all started at AQS QuiltWeek in Columbus, Ohio, where I used our new Sea Glass stencil to demonstrate just how easy it is to add a little pattern and personality to our felt kits.

Well, the clutch made its way back to Australia with me, and I’ve finally had some time to finish embellishing it! 🪡🧵

I’ve added some hexies and used the cross-stitch stitch on my Bernina sewing machine, along with WonderFil’s Mirage thread. I just love the gorgeous texture and effect you can create with the colour variegations in this thread! 💕

It’s always fun to see how a little stencilling, some fabric and a few decorative stitches can completely transform a project.

So there you have it… one well-travelled Luella Clutch, stencilled in the USA and embellished back home in Australia! 😂🌏

And now she’s ready for her next adventure! ✈️
