The fun begins again!

This time I’m Canada bound for Quilt Canada in Winnipeg.
Starts later this week, then I’m heading to Virginia for Road 2 Virginia before going to New Orleans for Bernina University!!

Yes, another busy trip but I’m so looking forward to making new friends and catching up with old ones!!

If you’re at any of these events, please pop by and say hi 👋

I got some quick pics this morning, with the sunshine but only now getting a chance to share them.

I’m completely smitten with Tilda’s Something Blue fabric range! 💙🌸

The soft blues, delicate florals, and just the tiniest touch of pink make this collection an absolute dream to work with.

This time I’ve embellished our Anna Tote, and I couldn’t be happier with how it has turned out. The large hexagons really showcase the beautiful fabrics, allowing each print to shine. I stitched around every hexagon with WonderFil’s 12wt Fruitti thread, creating a bold frame that adds wonderful texture and definition.

One of my favourite details is the flower I created using some of the circle appliqués from the collection. Finished with a touch of lace and a sweet bow, it gives the tote a lovely vintage-inspired feel that suits these fabrics perfectly.

Sometimes a project comes together exactly as you imagined it, and this is definitely one of those. 💙

Have you fallen in love with Something Blue as much as I have?

Another project finished with the beautiful Something Blue fabric collection by Tilda 💙

This time I’ve embellished one of our Bookcover/Project Cover kits, and once again I couldn’t resist using hexagons! For this project, I stitched them down with WonderFil’s 50wt Tutti thread. The soft variegation adds lovely texture while keeping the stitching subtle enough to let the fabrics shine.

To finish the cover, I added one of the sweet appliqué motifs from the panel, a delicate cup and saucer and I even folded one of the printed labels into a little serviette before stitching it in place. It was such a fun detail to add!

There’s something rather lovely about a journal cover inspired by tea and stitching. The perfect companion for jotting down ideas, planning projects, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of tea (or coffee!) in hand.

I’m really enjoying seeing how versatile this fabric collection is across different Aster & Anne kits. What would you use this cover for, a journal, project planner, or stitching notebook? ☕💙📖

I’ve given up waiting for the sun to shine, sadly still gloomy in Melbourne!

Two projects, one beautiful fabric collection 💙

I’ve been having so much fun embellishing not one, but two of our kits using Tilda’s gorgeous new Something Blue fabric range.

The first is our Georgia Clutch, covered in hexagons and stitched around each one with WonderFil’s bold 12wt Fruitti thread. I also couldn’t resist adding one of the sweet little bird appliqués from the panel to the front, giving it a lovely finishing touch. This time I’m sharing a few extra photos, including the back and inside details too!

To accompany it, I embellished one of our Zipper Purses using the same fabric collection. This time I chose smaller hexagons and stitched them down with WonderFil’s 50wt Tutti thread, creating a much softer, more subtle texture and finish.

Both pieces are finished with a delicate white trim around the edges, which ties everything together beautifully. And the best part? The Zipper Purse sits perfectly inside the Georgia Clutch, making them a lovely matching set.

Which one is your favourite, the bold Georgia Clutch or the more subtle Zipper Purse? 💙

Georgia Clutch all decked out in Tilda’s new range of fabrics called Something Blue!

I’ve been trying to get a nice pic with some sunshine but alas, it’s been quite wet and dreary here in Melbourne these past few days 🌧️
I’ll post some more pics when the sun shines again 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I do love how this Georgia Clutch has turned out, finished just in time for the release of these beautiful fabrics 😅

When I saw this range on display at International Quilt Market, I completely fell in love with it and couldn’t wait to use it.

I do have another project or two underway with this range as well, so stay tuned.
