Final few days to experience the works of Noah Spivak in person.

Created for his latest solo exhibition, the air does not hold us, this new body of work expands Spivak’s process-led practice, drawing inspiration from his artist residencies in Saigon, Vietnam, and Athens, Greece. Through these experiences, he continues to push the material and conceptual boundaries of his work, creating richly layered surfaces that reflect memory, place, and transformation.

lenticular print
Edition 1/3
83 x 56 cm

Lev Khesin’s lenticular prints extend his longstanding investigation into light, colour and perception. Using lenticular lenses to refract light, the works generate shifting images and spatial illusions that transform according to the viewer’s position, making movement an essential part of the viewing experience. Rather than presenting a fixed image, the prints invite an active encounter in which perception is continually altered, reflecting Khesin’s enduring interest in the relationship between material, light and the act of seeing.

From canvas to print

Informed by the works of Berlin-based artist Lev Khesin, BERLUTI collection was reimagined by artistic director Kris Van Assche, blurring the boundaries between art and fashion. Designed for the artist in all of us, the collection translated Khesin’s richly textured surfaces into impeccably tailored garments.

Rain [Day] 2004/6
mixed media on board
183 x 122 cm
$5500

Rain Day is a mixed media work by Melbourne artist Wendy Kelly, whose practice is grounded in abstraction and a lifelong exploration of colour, light, and form.

Through layered materials and intuitive mark-making, Kelly creates a contemplative visual language that evokes atmosphere rather than representation. Rain Day transforms the experience of rainfall into a meditative field of line and texture. Fine, layered white marks sweep diagonally across a muted grey-blue surface, creating a sense of movement, atmosphere, and quiet rhythm. Through the accumulation of repeated gestures, Kelly evokes the sensory experience of rain while remaining firmly within the realm of abstraction, inviting viewers to contemplate pattern, light, and the subtle shifts of the natural world.

Net on fabric, 2024

stretched canvas, framed
127 x 111 cm
$1900

In this delicate monochromatic work, Winsome Spiller transforms a network of irregular, interconnected forms into a meditation on structure, fragmentation and space. Suspended against a luminous white ground, the intricate web of shapes appears simultaneously organic and architectural, evoking coral formations, cellular structures, urban maps, or archaeological remnants uncovered over time.

Part of Spiller’s ongoing Untessellations series, the work explores alternatives to the ordered logic of tessellation. Rather than fitting together into a predetermined geometric system, the forms gather in a loose and intuitive arrangement, where the negative spaces between shapes become as significant as the shapes themselves. The eye moves continually between presence and absence, revealing a composition that is both complex and quietly contemplative.

Upcoming Exhibition: Cut and Composed 2026 – Group Collage Show

4 - 24 July

Inspired by the imaginative world of René Magritte, Cut and Composed is the third iteration of West End Art Space’s annual collage exhibition. This year’s exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose practices explore surreal logic, symbolic tension, and the subtle destabilisation of the familiar through the language of collage.

Cutting, layering, assembling, and re-framing sit at the heart of the exhibition, where fragments of imagery, memory, and meaning are transformed into new visual and conceptual narratives. Moving between the recognisable and the unexpected, the works invite viewers to reconsider everyday objects, spaces, and symbols, revealing alternative realities that exist just beneath the surface.

Through playful juxtapositions, poetic associations, and moments of quiet disruption, Cut and Composed celebrates collage as a medium uniquely suited to questioning perception and reimagining the world around us.
