Sunday at the Kastoria House - Coburg - lunch today was a Kosma Tzelios cooked barbecue of mezzedes - from juicy chicken livers to delicious cubed pork. Including Effie Lalopoulos, Loula's & Sofia's Kastorian pites topped off with a home made coffee cake for desert.

The Australia Kastorians celebrated Dekapentavgoustos (the Dormition of the Virgin Mary), a major holiday for the Greek Orthodox Church.
Effie Lalopoulos (current president) was joined by Thomas Iliopoulos (past president) and special guest Tassos Omiros- Tassos Douvartzides for these special celebrations.

Last night, the Kastoria Club had the pleasure of attending the M.U.N.G.A. Networking Evening, a wonderful initiative created by Melbourne University students to bring together Greek Australian students and professionals from across many different industries.
A huge thank you to the amazing Christina for organising such a fantastic evening at the Apollo Room. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and full of genuine connection.
It was especially heartwarming to see so many young Greek Australians investing their time and energy into building friendships, mentoring one another and strengthening our community. They are creating opportunities not just for themselves, but for future generations, and that is something worth celebrating.
Well done to everyone involved. We can’t wait to see this initiative continue to grow. 🇬🇷💙

Thank you Anthony Cianflone MP and Mimi from the Electorate office of Pascoe Vale and also the Victorian Government for helping us with much needed funds to repair our roof. All repairs have now been completed thanks to Peter the club plumber and his crew! Happy Days

The Australian Association of Kastorians received $11,450 from the Victorian government to go towards repairs of the Kastoria Club.

On Sunday 19 July, the Kastorian Club in Coburg, Melbourne, celebrated Prophet Elias, the patron saint of Kastorian furriers. This special day is a long-standing tradition in Kastoria and holds great significance for our community.
The members, many of whom are furriers, enjoyed a wonderful barbecue lunch prepared by the club’s expert cook, Kosma Tzelios, along with delicious homemade pites lovingly made by Effie Lalopoulos.
We were also honoured to receive a recorded greeting from the Mayor of Kastoria, Mr @ Giannis Korentsidis Γιάννης Κορεντσίδης, who acknowledged and honoured our 2026 celebrations.
