A 20th century drama about power, betrayal and the fate of a nation 😮

‘Once Upon a Time in China’, adapted from Li Ao’s historical novel of the same name, is set against the background of the political upheavals surrounding the Hundred Days’ Reform in China — but with telling parallels to our current times. The aspirations and tragedies of this period are staged in the charged space of Fayuan Temple in Beijing, with the play delivered in Mandarin with English captioning.

CTG’s staging of this renowned play can’t be missed!
