There’s a kid (or adult!?) in your house who narrates everything, does the voices, turns the lounge room into a stage without being asked. This is for them.

Jnr Drama and Triple Talent runs Mondays for primary school age kids. Part drama, part everything else, the kind of class where trying on a different character for an hour is the whole appeal.

Saturdays belong to the pre teens and teens. Youth Drama gives them scripts, scenes, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t come from a textbook.

We also run private singing lessons, one on one, for anyone who wants a voice that’s actually theirs.

And here’s one we’re weighing up. An adult drama or musical theatre class. If that’s something you’d actually show up for, tell us. We build what our community wants, not what we assume they want.

Disco lights, wooden floors, and a room full of kids fully in it.

This is a Monday class doing exactly what it’s meant to do. Nobody’s watching themselves in the mirror. Nobody’s worried about getting it perfect. They’re just moving.

That’s the whole point.

Come find your kid’s version of this room. Casual classes are always open, no experience needed.

Yep, we’re still waiting on the council for that change of use permit. Nothing moves until it does, but we’ve been building the timetable anyway, because when this thing gets approved we want to hit the ground running, not scrambling.

Here’s the rough plan. Adult ballet, contemp, jazz and tap, all in both beginner and advanced. Adult Latin and ballroom, Hip hop, Pilates and stretch, Strength. Most sitting in that 6 to 8pm window so you can get here straight after work.

We’re also looking at daytime classes for older adults, currently pencilled in for Wednesdays, and maybe a weekend sessions too for those who can’t get there on weekdays.

None of it is locked in yet. This is the bit where you tell us what you want, not what we assume you want.

Contemporary is the class where students learn there’s no one right way to move.

No “wrong” way to feel the music. Just your body, the floor, and whatever’s actually going on for you that day.

It’s the style that teaches emotional expression is a skill, not a personality trait you’re born with or without. Some of our most cautious students come alive in this room.

Every parent asks the same question, even if they never say it out loud. Who’s actually looking after my kid when I’m not in the room, are they really safe?

A policy sitting in a folder doesn’t answer that. What answers it is a team that keeps showing up to learn, because child safety isn’t something you write once and file away. The information changes. The training has to keep up.

That’s what this photo is. Our team working through the latest training, checking what they know still holds up, learning what’s changed.

No one’s clapping for this bit. There’s no costume, no photo op, no story to post about a kid’s big moment. Just a room full of adults making sure they’re actually equipped and keeping kids safe, not just compliant on paper.

Too noisy for a face today so you got the voice instead.

Painting done. Tiling done. Kitchen’s just waiting on taps. Bathroom’s nearly there. Heating and cooling this week. Outside kicks off tomorrow and runs through the weekend.

This building’s been standing since 1919, and we’re not just building a studio in it, we’re picking up a story that started long before us.

Friday I’m sitting down with a local historian to dig into who ran this place before it was ours. Land owners, sorted. Storekeepers, still hunting. If you know anything, send it our way.

And there’s also a connection to Cameo I’ve found that I’m not ready to share yet... Working with Sherbrooke Foothills to get it exactly right first.

We tried 5 competitions last year, but they didn’t sit well with us.

There’s a place for them for sure. If comps are your thing, genuinely go for it. It’s just not what we do here.

After each comp the teacher in me kept asking one question. If you don’t know what you’re being marked on, how do you know what to improve?

Across five competitions, not once were we told how our kids would be ranked. We got feedback, which was great. But if the goal is to place, there was no way to actually set our students up for success in that.

And to be clear, I’m not saying things should be easy for kids. Life is hard for a twelve year old. It’s supposed to be, that’s how they grow. This was never about making it easy.

It’s about making it achievable.

Picture a kid who puts everything into a routine. Every rehearsal, every run through. She comes off stage and places fourth, because the judge weighted timing over leg lines that day. Nobody told her that mattered more.

What is she supposed to take from that?

And we do still get excited about trophies! Twice a year at our concerts, we hand them out. Voted on by every teacher and every Dance Stepper.

Not for who’s the ‘best’. They are for who’s shown up for what we actually value. Fun and engaging. Building confidence and individuality. Safety and inclusivity. Professionalism with passion. Supportive community and wellbeing.

Anyone in our community can win one. Not the kid who beat everyone else. The kid who showed us who they are, the mum who found her place then helped others feel the same, the stage manager who makes everyone feel safe.

We want our students to dance and feel better about themselves. To grow as their own person. To learn what it means to work as a team.

We’re not comparing them to get there.

Jazz gets a bad rap for being "just the fun one."

Fair, it IS fun. But it's also the style that teaches kids to fill a room. Big movement, sharp energy, actually feeling the music instead of just counting it.

It's the style where the student who's usually quiet on stage suddenly isn't.

We've got Jazz running now for adults and kids. If you've been thinking about getting back into it, this is your sign!

Nine kids. One circle. Every single one of them chose to sit shoulder to shoulder instead of off in their own corner.

That’s not an accident. That’s what happens when nobody’s ranking who’s better, whose shoes are newer, or who “should” be at the front. Mismatched socks, odd shoes, a kid still working out where her feet go. All of it belongs in the circle.

This is the whole point of what we build here. Not perfect lines, Connection.

Ferny Creek is starting to look like an actual studio and not a construction site.

Two studios, both fully rubber underneath so knees are happy. Mirrors going up in Studio 2. Curtains and sheers coming for Studio 1’s windows. A parents and family waiting area with stuff for siblings to do while they wait. Even a kitchenette out back.

The bathroom went from disgusting to done, which honestly might be the biggest glow up in the whole building.

Still a way to go and still waiting on that change of use permit from council, but bit by bit we’re getting there. Can’t wait to welcome you in.
