We’ve already got our eye on Latin, Ballroom, Glow Fit, Pilates, Burlesque and all standard dance classes (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemp) Plus one we’re not allowed to name yet. (Fine. It’s called She Who Rises. But that’s all you’re getting for now. 👀)

Our Ferny Creek studio opens in July and the adult timetable still has room to add more classes. So before we fill it in, we want to hear from you.

Here's what nobody warns you about starting your kid in dance at three.
By five, they are their own person, ready to attack life and school.
Not because of the dancing. Because of what the dancing builds.
Coordination. Rhythm. The ability to listen and wait their turn. To move through a space with confidence. To walk into somewhere new and feel okay about it.
Those are not dance skills. They are life skills. And the kids who start building them at two or three arrive at school with something that is genuinely hard to catch up on later.
In our preschool classes, we teach proper technique in an environment that makes small humans feel safe. No pressure. No comparison. No "you're not doing it right."
A two-year-old who wouldn't let go of mum's hand on week one becomes the kid who runs in on week three. A four-year-old who didn't know what she is capable of, is so proud of herself by the end of the term.
Term 3 is coming and spots in our preschool classes fill fast. Tiny Groovers from 18 months. Preschool Jazz and Ballet and acro from age two.

Week 3. And things are starting to look real.

Flooring goes down this week. Plaster up tomorrow. Bathroom done next weekend.

We are actually fitting this place out now.

We also did a heap of work outside this week and I forgot to film all of it (🤪), so trust that there’s more happening than what made the cut.

Week 4 is going to be a big one. Like, you’ll genuinely see the difference. Don’t miss that video.

An amazing Performing Arts concert at Gemco Yesterday!

Junior Drama and Triple Talent brought the variety show, the kind of show where you keep nudging the person next to you going “did you know they could do that?”
The answer is that they probably didn’t know either. Not at the start of year.

Youth Drama then performed ‘Frogs’, a Greek comedy written in 405 BC and our Youth Drama students performed the whole thing. They were brilliant!

But what got me wasn’t the script or the staging, it was watching kids who walked into drama class months ago not quite sure where to look, holding a room full of people and knowing exactly what they were doing.

That’s the thing about performing arts. The skills are real: voice, movement, timing, presence. But what you actually watch on stage is confidence. And that builds slowly, and then all at once.

Yesterday was the “all at once” moment for a lot of these kids.

So proud of all of them.

Week 2 update — and she is STRIPPED BACK and ready to rise. 🏚️➡️✨

The asbestos is out. The walls are down. The bathroom is mid-demo. The electrician is doing his thing. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it is absolutely glorious.

Every week this building is revealing more of what she’s going to become and we are HERE for it.

We’ve already heard some incredible stories from people who grew up shopping here, working here, or just hanging around the Ferny Creek township. Please keep them coming. Photos, memories, family connections, drop them in the comments or message us directly. We’re collecting them all. 💜

We have a new home. 🏠
For The Love Of Dance is moving from our Tecoma studio into the Ferny Creek General Store, 195 Mount Dandenong Tourist Rd, right in the heart of the community.
This building has been part of Ferny Creek for generations. We didn't just find a new studio, we moved into somewhere that already belongs to the people around here and we want to honour that.
Inside, we're building a permanent community history wall. Photos, memories, stories from anyone who's ever had a connection to this place.
