I began photographing thresholds at New Norcia before I understood why.

They have become a way of thinking about the place itself: what it holds, what remains unresolved, and what may still be opening.
My reflection on this appears in the June edition of The Chimes, alongside photographs taken during my recent months at New Norcia.

It moves through Hildegard's music, Benedictine life, Yued country, and the strange suspension of a doorway—the moment before one space gives way to another.
