Opera royalty, Liane Keegan will join Ann Davie-Smythe in a rousing sing along in the first act of The Silent Anzac

Liane Keegan is a Dramatic Contralto with over 40 years’ experience on the Operatic and Concert platforms.
Her career has taken her all over the world, with residencies with many of the leading Opera Houses and Orchestras in Europe, America and Australia. A specialist in Wagner and Verdi roles, Mahler, Elgar and Vaughan Williams Concert pieces and Oratorios specific to the Contralto
voice, to name but a few.
Liane is the Artistic Director of XLArts.org and the newly formed Ensemble Creatus in Melbourne.
Along with teaching singing and German diction
coaching, Liane is a fully qualified Arts Therapist
and a Visual Artist who also has a passion for directing opera.

Meet the artists | Naomi Summers - Soprano
Naomi Summers, born in Mount Gambier, moved to Melbourne for her music studies. She holds a Bachelor and Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance and furthered her operatic training at the Belcanto Summer Vocal Programme in Munich, Germany. Naomi's operatic debut was as the Foreign Princess in Dvořák’s Rusalka. She has since performed Giulietta and the Voice of the Mother in Tales of Hoffmann. With extensive concert experience, she has been a Guest Artist for the Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic and Music Lover’s Society.

Meet our artist | Bethan Ellsmore - Soprano
Bethan Ellsmore is a talented vocalist with expertise in opera, music theatre, and cabaret. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice and a Master’s in Jazz & Contemporary Voice. Her notable roles include La Fee in Cendrillon, Cathy in The Last Five Years, and Cosette in Les Miserables. Bethan has toured internationally and performed in award-winning productions like Il Ritorno and Happy Ever After. A founding member of the cabaret collective Babushka, she also created solo work like Queen of the Night and co-produced Aria Moderna. Recently, she performed as Euridice in Medea.

Meet our artist | Toni Lalich OAM - Pianist

Toni has worked as an accompanist and vocal coach in Melbourne for the past 25 years, performing with professional singers and instrumentalists. She was Company Manager and Vocal Coach for Short Black Opera for 13 years, supporting the development and training of First Nations singers and instrumentalists. Currently, Toni supports arts and cultural programs in regional areas, working for the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival and The Fairley Foundation. In 2019, she received a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the performing arts, particularly music.
