I went to the Yarra river in the city at the end of Autumn and it did not disappoint me. The Riverland was a nice location for my Plein Air painting, and it glowed in the sunlight in the day.

“Captain Cooks Cottage”
It was a nice sunny day ☀️perfect for En’ Plein Air painting so I chose Fitzroy Garden for a peaceful painting location.

The cottage is originally located in Yorkshire, England, and built in 1755 by the parents of Captain James Cook. Cooks’ Cottage was brought to Melbourne by Sir Russell Grimwade in 1934.🏚

Can you see Captain Cooks in my painting? He’s not a pirate ! 😃🎨

Study work of Claude Monet - “Wild Poppies” 1873 ***NFS***

Monet’s wife Camille and son Jean was painted at Argenteuil, a beautiful riverside poppy field and a village just outside Paris, where Monet and family settled in 1871.

The original painting is in oil but I used gouache for my quick studying only.

A lovely statue - “Water Nymph” at the Queen Victoria garden with the beautiful reflection in the pond always catch my eyes when I walk to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). This time I managed to get a sketch of her with the charcoal in a beautiful summer daylight on my sketch book. ✍🏻🧜‍♀️😃

“Melbourne out of the lockdown” my En’ Plein Air at the South Bank was very delightful charcoal drawing to enjoy the first day of the freedom after Melbourne has been in the lockdown for 70 + days and over 260 days accumulated from last year.

I just love this view of the Flinders Station and St. Paul Cathedral - the iconic scenery of Melbourne city. It was stunning in the nice weather of spring time. 😃✨

Historic “Beaumaris bay” is very peaceful and marvellous in a calm weather when I went drawing there. The white hotel building on top of the cliff made the perfect background for either of walking or painting. You can find an interesting Art trail including Arthur Streeton and few artists’ print works displays there as part of the historic trail. 👍🏼😍

Quick sketch of the Art Center when I went to the Triennial Exhibition at NGV. The Triennial is a contemporary art exhibition contributed by 100+ local and international artists. They used laser light and sound to bring existing art collection of NGV to life. Really worth to visit. 👍🏼💘🎼

It was lovely autumn colour and afternoon light when I went to Fitzroy garden for walk after the restriction lifted. I took photos and picked up the fallen leaves, dried it up, for my reference to paint later. 🍂🍁
