Hey everybody! What’s news? Is there much going on in the world???
We’re sorry that it’s been a couple of weeks since you’ve heard from us. We’ve been busy watching the news, swatting away conspiracy nuts, making sure our loved ones are safe, dealing with our finances, arguing on the internet and most recently, coming to terms with the realities of life shut down. Cold turkey kaput.
A lot can change in two weeks!
Some questions that have been hand springing through our brains - When will we be allowed to run parties again? How long will this last and how widely will this spread? Will our parents catch it? Will things ever return to normal? How do we apply for Centrelink? How much toilet paper is a reasonable amount to buy without being judged a hoarder-extraordinaire?
What we know is that the world has changed and we’re going to change along with it. Our new normal is a life without in-person events for the foreseeable future. Lights, Lasers and a Deejay - see ya later. Day Spa is changing because you guys are changing. We’re still going to run amazing costume raves (virtual parties are still parties) - but everything seems a bit more serious now. People’s lives are at stake and every individual member of society has a newfound responsibility that didn’t exist before. That is scary, but a bit exciting.
What do you do with an events company that can’t run events?
Day Spa was always about you - our community. That’s not changing. We’re going to celebrate all the favourite parts of le Spa while acknowledging that we’re entering a brave new world. A lot of you guys have lost their jobs. A lot of you guys are in the at risk category for corona, or know someone who is. All of you guys are living a different reality than you were just a few weeks ago. Things are going to get worse, but we’re going to be here to help guide you through that.
It feels a bit like everyone is on W***y Wonka’s scary boat ride…
There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Our community is more important than ever. We don’t know how long this is going to last, but we’re bringing the spa magic to you.
We’ve opened up our private Day Spa Members group and renamed it Day Spa Community - if you need help, ask. If you’re lonely, tell us. We would love for you to be involved!
