SEEKING DIRECTOR- PROFIT SHARE
We are seeking a bold, actor driven director to lead the staging of a powerful new original Australian play scheduled for a two week season in the last two weeks of September at Meat Market Stables, North Melbourne. This is a creatively ambitious, text rich ensemble work built around justice, bias, forgiveness and moral responsibility. The play unfolds like a jury deliberation and culminates in a live audience verdict, where each audience becomes the jury and determines the outcome of the central character’s fate each night. This is a rare opportunity to shape a production that is theatrically inventive, socially sharp and performance led.
We are looking for a director who:
• Loves working closely with actors and psychological detail
• Is excited by layered ensemble storytelling
• Can shape tension, humour and confrontation in the same frame
• Enjoys morally complex material
• Is confident with minimalist staging and high performance focus
• Is interested in audience interaction and immersive theatrical devices
• Wants to collaborate with the writer and creative team in refinement and rehearsal
