Feat Theatre are closing Down - NOW LET'S PARTY!!!!

Feat Theatre in Oakover Road are sad to say they're closing their doors on June 30th.

SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY JUNE 18

We'd like to invite everyone to come and mourn with us and celebrate independent theatre in all its crazy impossibility!

Six years ago we put out a call to alms. We were going to start a theatre and we asked all our friends for help. G's old school friend Melissa Tan was the first person to offer us assistance all the way from the UK, and delivered by becoming keeper of our Domain (featinspace.com). With the expertise of her excellent partner Ben they helped keep our website alive for the past five years... Just last week they handed it over to us. And then today, we were lucky enough to get a visit from Mel and her little daughter Eva. Thanks again Melissa, Ben & Eva! You have helped make this Feat a reality.

Feat's brand of low fi, actor-focussed theatre represents a sustainable and positive way forward for humanity.

Had a great time working with Helen Bower from Pieces of Helen today. Went from a basic lighting tutorial for a violin soloist, to her designing her show for Perth and Wellington in four hours. Great to see a musician start to get a hold of all the elements around her and to include them in the performance. To make them a part of her work and accent her performance in a way she desires, rather than letting them run wild on her, as happens to so many performers who only focus on their primary discipline. Brave and excellent!
