About this track:
It was weaved together over a few years. I wrote the piano part and hook in August 2021, I went to a small village on a mountain in Israel for a month to try and finish the musical. This was the only day that I wrote a single word the whole month. It was excruciating, fighting my own tendencies for escapism and procrastination. A year later, I recorded it with during a short but powerful collaboration. When we started the track I was struggling with religion and God, by the time we finished it 5 weeks later I had fully become orthodox again and decided to leave the city for good. It was a heightened and inspired and painful time. I think the track pretty much captures that. I put it in the drawer and forgot about it because it felt too ‘dark’ for my new religious, enlightened self. During the work on the musical this year, the director said ‘we need an electronic moment here’. I stumbled across I Miss You in my files and it was perfect. It said everything. It had been waiting for this moment patiently. It became one of my favorite parts of the show and a hallmark of the mysterious wonder of the artistic process. I miss you SCM ❤️
