ForrOz Melbourne's forró dance lessons are back on Wednesdays!

The dance classes are an open format - all welcome! 🎉 Everyone has access to learn at their own skill level, experience and pace.

We start with one hour of Forró Universitário style (arms), followed by one hour of Forró Roots style (body and legs).

Please read the details below:

WHERE: Errol's Cafe - 69/71 Errol St, North Melbourne VIC 3051
Enter the Cafe and go UPSTAIRS to the "Private Dining Room"

[NOTE: Drinks and Food are available in the cafe downstairs. Please support Errol's as they employ international students, some Brazilians!]

WHEN: Classes will run weekly on Wednesday nights for 9 weeks from 23 July to 17 September 2025 inclusive at:
👉 6:45pm to 7:45pm Forró Universitário style; and
👉 7:45pm to 8:45pm Forró Roots style.

NOTE: This is an 8-week term and includes a free Wed social - date to be announced

For Term 2 we are separating the dance classes by style of forró dance - one hour each for Forró Universitário and Forró Roots styles. Everyone will have access to learning what they can based on their dance skills, level and experience at the time - all welcome! 🎉

Please note the venue has changed and we are switching to Tuesdays - so read the information below carefully:

Hello everyone I’m just coming here now to thank you all the people who makes 2nd Melbourne Forroz Marathon happen. First @⁨Jose Stankovic⁩ ,@⁨Monita⁩ @⁨Kon Kalicin⁩ @⁨Paul⁩ we make the marathon happens was really fantastic have us together.
Also big thanks to the volunteers @⁨Wesley Martins Forró ⁩ and from Germany 🇩🇪. Giant thanks to Flavia Bittencourt, Bona, Jason, Marina, Andrew, @⁨Bruna Lopes⁩ , for the music and the amazing teachers @⁨Barbara Loreto Brisbane⁩ @⁨Julie⁩ and @⁨Bernado Forro Brisbane⁩ also special thanks to @⁨Mateus Brisbane ⁩ to help Flavia happens at the marathon, Sushi Brazilia tô support us Also , and Macsue with the food.
