The team at Theatre Matters offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

While we join with people around the world as we mourn her loss, we can also remember fondly Her Majesty's love and support of the arts.

Our thoughts are also with all the performers who till take to the stage tonight, in true "the show must go on" style, but particularly across the UK as the country enters a period of mourning.

“One night he experiences something truly terrifying but what makes it so scary, says Laga’aia, is that he is just like any one of us, an everyday blue collar worker that everyone can relate to.” - Theatre Matters Jay Laga’aia shares that he is intrigued by Ghost Stories, which is a genre lacking in the current theatrical landscape, and his excitement towards the performance this September at the Athenaeum Theatre. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another brilliant 5 STAR review for Unsolicited Male from Nick Pilgrim at Theatre Matters! "Unsolicited Male is the paradigmatic example of a disciplined acting troupe (Kym Valentine, Russell Fletcher, Gabriella Rose-Carter, Anthony Scundi, Will Atkinson and Andy Berry-Brown), laser-focussed direction (by Suzanne Heywood), and a brilliant script (by Ron Elisha), working together as one..." "Their performances are rich and layered, peeled back like the proverbial onion..." "At times confronting and shocking (think Jodie Foster’s primal performance in The Accused), yet ultimately rewarding, Unsolicited Male and the swirling world of office politics it inhabits, will wring you dry." AFTER SHOW: THE WORLD PREMIERE OF DRIFTWOOD – THE MUSICAL. Read the full article on Theatre People: https://buff.ly/3wmtpuE “Driftwood may not be big and shiny like several of the super musicals touring Australia right now. However, it must be stressed that both of those qualities do not make this show any less significant. In Director Gary Abrahams’ care, expert pacing allows both the story and the characters to breathe and grow as one. It is an experience which always keeps our interest. Jane Bodie’s book not only keeps the legacy of Karl Duldig’s and Slawa Horowitz-Duldig’s legacy alive with deeply felt sensitivity, the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, demonstrates that history can ominously repeat itself. Her writing is underscored by the musical director, Anthony Barnhill’s rich and melodic composition. To give Driftwood its due, one needs to mull over the full experience. Quite meta in its ex*****on, this is a show prepared to take risks and challenge theatrical conventions head on.” - Nick Pilgrim, Theatre People. Read the stellar reviews we’ve received for Driftwood - The Musical here: https://buff.ly/3sI8Q9S
