Try our very popular untutored OPEN STUDIO SESSIONS at BAS starting soon in Term 4.

Paint whatever subject matter you like in a friendly environment with others.

Session Times:

Monday: 9.30am-12.00pm

Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided—just bring your materials and settle in for a rewarding, creative session.

There is no tutor or model in attendance.

Membership is required to access Open Studio sessions.��

Discover the creative and versatile world of printmaking in this hands-on introductory course.

Designed for beginners and artists wishing to explore the endless possibilities of printmaking.

Throughout the course participants will,

● Explore dry point intaglio printmaking methods and materials, including the use of recycled tetra packaging and how to repurpose a pasta machine as a home printing press.

● Develop skills in image design, plate preparation, inking and printing

● Experiment with different approaches to mark making

● Produce a series of their own original prints

Class day and time – Monday 1.00pm to 4.00pm
Dates: 7/9, 14/9, 21/9 & 28/9

This class will not run on the public holidays.

Dear BAS Members and Friends,

We are extremely pleased to announce that the lift works are complete!

To avoid disruption to our classes and groups, Brighton Art Society will be moving back to the Brighton Town Hall Studio this Monday 27 July at 4:00 pm.

Important Details for Members:

Location Changes:

Any classes running before 4:00 pm on Monday 27 July will remain at Francis Street.

Any classes running after 4:00 pm will take place at Wilson Street (Town Hall).

What to Bring:

An old towel to cover your BAS worktable.

Your own mug to enjoy free tea and coffee.

Studio Care:

Please wipe down equipment after use.

Please leave the studio as you found it (or better!). As this is a shared space, we appreciate everyone’s help in keeping it clean and welcoming.

Finally, the wait is over! Thank you all so much for your patience and support.
