While architecture is not my usual photographic subject, I was truly in awe of the history and design of these buildings, which were once reclaimed by nature.

'desert hues'. Handbuilt speckled stoneware vase in cream and topped with layers of coloured clay (nerikomi) in hues of faded blues, greens and yellows.

'seadside hotel'. Just imagine... looking out the window from inside a beachfront hotel...

FYI, this technique is called . The coloured patterns are created by stacking clay that has been mixed with pigment stains.
