The prestigious MELBOURNE SALSA GALA BALL returns on
SATURDAY 21st NOVEMBER at the Majestic Thornbury Theatre.
This year’s Gala Ball theme is …'VIVA LAS VEGAS' A tribute to the icons.
A spectacle showcasing the most dynamic and exciting entertainers to set foot in Las Vegas. Take a musical journey to experience all of the glitz, glamour and extravagant costumes that made Vegas...Vegas but with a Latin twist. An event not to be missed!
The event will consist of an early dance class, social dancing to a live big band Orchestra, DJ’s, best dressed competitions, and of course our Student Performance Teams and Pro-Ams.
Join a performance team and experience the thrill of showcasing your hard work and passion of dancing to your family & friends and why you miss family dinners, afterwork drinks and arrive home late on a school night.
Afraid of the stage? Don’t worry because you won’t be alone, you'll be dancing with friends, your instructors will be in your corner and the crowd will be cheering you on and celebrating you!
There are 6 teams to choose from, do one or do them all.

Guys & Gals, it's your time to shine in this redefined headline act 🕺💃
“Broadway Vegas ” brings smoky jazz, Class and rhythm with a punch. Combining salsa, mambo, and fosse jazz arrangements. Think broadway Vegas meets modern cabaret — top hats, tails, canes and razor sharp charisma. A performance that is theatrical and Unforgettable.
Chicago was a broadway sensation with Catherine Zeta-Jones redefining what a headline act could look like in the 2000s.
Catherine Zeta-Jones didn’t build Vegas — she redefined what a headline act could look like in the 2000s. Her turn as Velma Kelly in Chicago was the spark. That Oscar-winning, razor-sharp, all-legs-and-brass performance took Fosse choreography, Broadway attitude, and film-star glamour and made it global. This will be the inspiration for this performance course.
Want to sharpen, glamourise your dancing skills and add a little Jazz flavour? This performance course is for you!

Entry is via audition only
Audition Date: Sunday 23rd August: 5:30PM sharp at the Melbourne Salsa Studio. Audition will finish by 6:00PM
You will take part in a group salsa class, you will not be dancing on your own and it will not feel like an audition.
Once selected, you must be available to attend the 10 week performance course and perform at the Melbourne Salsa Showcase on Saturday 21st November.
Being part of a team is a commitment and we want every student to grow and experience the thrill of performing!
Cost: $335 includes entry to the Event.
*Please note this price does not include costume, this is an additional cost TBC (approx. $150)
Course Guidelines for students:
- Students are advised to not miss more than 2 lessons.
- If you miss a lesson we advise you catch up with a private lesson.
- Please arrive 10mins early every week to stretch and warm up.
These Courses will be held at the Melbourne Salsa studio 1/326 Smith Street Collingwood (Rear entrance via laneway off Bedford street)
