The Shift Theatre

The Shift Theatre The Shift Theatre is focused on presenting dynamic works with strong roles for women. and Victoria in 2014 and W.A. in 2015.

Our aim is to provide a stimulating and collaborative platform for directors, actors and a creative team who share our vision for a vibrant ensemble company and stories that capture the heart and imagination. Founded in 2009 The Shift Theatre had its inaugural season at The Dog Theatre in Footscray producing two works; the Australian premiere of Nilo Cruz’ Two Sisters and a Piano and Fred by accla

imed Australian playwright Beatrix Christian. With L.Wolf Productions, The Shift Theatre co-produced Lost In Ringwood in 2013. The company have also produced an original Australian work; The Girls in Grey after successful creative development at La Mama Theatre in 2010, and performances at The Shrine of Remembrance in 2011 as part of Education Week. The Girls in Grey had a season at Theatre Works in St Kilda in 2012, a regional tour of Victoria in 2013, a tour of N.S.W. The Shift Theatre’s Hallowed Ground – Women Doctors in War had a season at La Mama in Carlton in 2018, toured to Adelaide Fringe Festival and regional Victoria and Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019. In 2022 by Angela Buckingham is at La Mama Courthouse.
