Some projects carry a certain weight to them…
this was one of those.

This piece was commissioned for Helvetia House, a remarkable renovation by Austin Maynard Architects — a home widely recognised for its bold yet deeply considered approach to contemporary living, and featured on Grand Designs.

The architecture is strong, intentional, and quietly complex.
Which meant the artwork couldn’t simply sit within the space —
it needed to hold its own while softening it at the same time.

From the beginning, the brief was to create a centrepiece artwork
that would bring a sense of tactility, movement, and calm into a very structured environment.

Something organic.
Something that shifts with the light.
Something that feels… lived with.

And that’s always the balance I’m drawn to —
work that doesn’t compete with architecture,
but instead grounds it, and gives it a different kind of presence.

What made this even more special were the clients behind the project.

Thoughtful, open, and deeply trusting of the process —
the kind of collaboration that allows a piece to evolve into something more than initially imagined.

There’s something incredibly meaningful about contributing to a home like this —
one that’s been so carefully designed, and will continue to evolve with the people living inside it.

For those exploring commissioned artwork for contemporary homes,
or looking for a textural statement piece that brings warmth into architectural spaces —
this is exactly the kind of work I love creating.

Curious…
when you think about your space —
does it need something to fill it,
or something to hold it?

There’s a moment I notice in so many spaces…
where everything is beautiful, considered… and yet something still feels missing.

Not more furniture.
Not another colour.

Something to hold it all together.

The kind of piece that doesn’t compete for attention,
but quietly anchors the room.

This is what I keep coming back to in my work.

Textured, hand-formed fibre pieces that bring softness, depth and a sense of calm into a space.
Artwork that isn’t about matching a palette, but about shifting how a room feels.

Because the most interesting interiors aren’t perfectly coordinated —
they’re layered, a little unexpected, and built around pieces that carry presence.

If you’ve ever found yourself searching for
“large wall art for a living room”
or “textured neutral artwork for modern interiors”
and nothing quite felt right…

this might be what you’ve been looking for —
you just didn’t have the words for it yet.

If this resonates, I’d love to know —
do you lean more towards calm, tonal spaces…
or layered, collected ones?

Some works arrive quietly, through feeling rather than planning.

This piece began while thinking about the Australian landscape — the deep reds of the earth, the vast openness, the ancient presence that seems to hold both beauty and memory at once.

When I moved to Australia from the other side of the world, I knew very little about this land. Over time, it slowly revealed itself to me — through its colours, textures, silence and scale. It has become the place that nourishes my mind and spirit every day.

Yet this land also carries deep wounds.

The title Wounded Healer reflects that tension for me — a place that has endured immense hurt, and yet continues to hold, nurture and sustain life.

As an immigrant, I sometimes feel a quiet resonance with that idea. We arrive carrying our own stories, our own fractures, searching for somewhere new to root ourselves.

This work is my reflection on that relationship — between land, belonging, healing and memory.

Hand-wrapped natural fibres build dense sculptural layers, echoing the movement of earth, rock formations and the rhythm of the Australian outback landscape.

Wounded Healer will soon be an entry to its first art prize exhibition.

A slower kind of artwork.

Now You See Me was created through repetition, patience and a steady rhythm of wrapped fibre.

Line by line, the form grew into a textured landscape that shifts with light and shadow.

I’m interested in how tactile materials can soften a space — how texture, movement and organic form can create a quiet sense of grounding.

Created by hand in my Macedon Ranges studio.

Something people sometimes ask me is why I take on commissions.

The truth is — they are one of the most meaningful parts of my practice.

A commission isn’t simply about making an artwork. It’s about a conversation. About understanding a space, a person, a feeling they want to live with every day.

We talk about colours, scale, mood, the story behind the piece. But the work still has to come through my hands and my voice — which is why every commission becomes something entirely new.

No replicas. No repetition.

Just one piece, created slowly, for one space.

I only take on a small number of commissions each year because of the care, thought and energy they require. But when the alignment is right, the process becomes incredibly special.

For me, these works are never just objects.

They become part of someone’s life.

And that’s something I don’t take lightly.
