I'm in Ibague, the land of cafè and the Andean Bear. I go to a little cafe to work on Hector. The lovely barista lady serves me a macchiato with the face of a bear designed in the foam. Good omens.

Bahia Solano, El Paraiso de Colombia.

After I read Sleep Wolf's initial draft of Hector, set in the Jungle of Colombia's Pacific coast, I had so many questions.
I wondered how I could create the artwork for such an exotic location from my wintery studio in Melbourne. And so we decided a little writer / artist residency was in order. We boarded a plane and here we are in El Chocó.
A paradise of wild and tropical jungle which houses some of the world's most unique, colourful and endangered animal species including the elusive Spectacled Bear.

Couldn't make it to the concert tonight, but sure did have fun listening to the best of Talking Heads and playing around with foliage ideas in the studio.
