Christmas Commission 2020
Thank you Tim & Suz for this lovely fantastic opportunity! It made our strange year so special!
I was offered a commission from Tim & Suz at Urban Initiatives - Landscape Architect and Urban Design company, to create a botanical artwork for Christmas!!!
The specimen I chose was Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus), which is native to Victoria and Tasmania where their offices are located. The original artwork is for the office, and 14 Giclée print reproductions of the original are for the staff - cool landscapey people. All the 15 babies have been nicely framed and given a new home and family hopefully making people happy 🙂
Through One Tree Planted a non-profit organization, I’ve finally found an excellent way to start doing something better for the environment by creating art. It works like this - every piece of artwork adopted plants one tree🌲 So by creating art we can have an even greater positive impact on the planet! This time with the commission, 15 trees have been planted in Australia!!! It feels SO GREAT doesn’t it?
I’m gonna draw more to plant more trees 2021! Make a forest!
