Start young. To develop a lifelong love of art, you need as much time to become familiar with it as possible. The younger you are, the easier it is for you to build your confidence with engaging in art. If you’re already learning about the world, learning about art will seem natural to you too, and an affinity with it will grow. You won’t view the art world as elite - just simply as yours. You won’t be intimidated by galleries, and seeing an exhibition will be just as normal to you as going to the movies. My mum started me young, and it’s been one of the greatest love affairs of my life.
We need to help the next generation of art lovers and art makers to find their way, because our cultural voice will stagnant and die without them. Teach them to see art. Help them to understand art. Show them how to love art. And through them, you’ll become closer to art too.
Love sharing art experiences with you and your beautiful Ozi every time we’re in the same country.
