Grumpy Bunny Game

Grumpy Bunny Game A free bunny platform game as a start off project, working up to other games I'd love to create!

Hey guys!! Might be the last update for a while, but I'll continue to work on this project over time!! I tried to upload it to Unreal Engine, ran into a heap of complications with the mesh, and with Uni deadlines coming up I can't get it all done in time ):

On a positive note, I'm really impressed with how much I did create so far, problem solving, and I learnt so much!! I would recommend this to anyone, there is so much support out there online, free tutorials, ect! Very excited for the day I can deliver this to Bundercover Gaygents hahaha, and thank you guys so much!!! ❤️

Day 5, and I have completed the weight painting!! I also recoloured her, had to redo the skeleton, and got stuck a million times 😭

Here's some of the weight painting + the effect of not checking other bones 👀 (I fixed that) plus the recolour!! It's finally coming along, and I think this will be the hardest hurdle to get over ❤️

Just an update post to say I had to fix the model, but if you're interested in beginning to create and animate models, give this a look!!

This is probably super obvious in 3D modelling, but I had no clue until my friend pointed it out - but in the first picture, you can see 5 vertices (or corners) in one shape. To make a model, you can either make shapes with 3 vertices, or 4 vertices. The program can not properly communicate with more than that.

It's an easy fix! If you go to edit mode, press the "select" tab, and go down to "select all by trait", you can press "faces by sides" and discover which shapes you need to fix, as it will select (highlight) them for you 😊 the second image I've fixed that issue

I've done the loop cuts around the joints, and finally tomorrow I'll be getting to making the model actually move 😭 thank yall for being so patient ❤️

Here it is looking a lot more uniform, I tilted the ears upward so I could get under them easier (did not realise that's why you see models t-posing lmao) learning so much, couldn't recommend trying this more ❤️

Day 3 of Grumpy Bunny Game!!

Coloured her in, and added a skeleton!

I spent like 3 hours on the skeleton because I made the silly mistake of not pressing the bone and then parenting it, only the end bit 😭 tough lesson to learn hahaha

Did a bit of weight painting, and really hoping I can get it all to work without having to remodel the character!! I'll hopefully get it all modelled tomorrow!!

Day 2 of creating a 2d bunny platform game!!

I followed this tutorial on YouTube by Grant Abbitt! I restarted this figure 3 times, but finally got the product I wanted! Definitely check the video out if you'd like to do similar, he makes it super easy, but keep in mind where you're putting your lines 😭

I'll try to post every day at around 7pm Australian time on my progress! Tomorrow I'll be rigging it, and trying to get a few animations out 😊

The second imagine is the first one I started out with, but I wasn't very cautious with my lines, so it didn't work once I got to the next stage. I started at 10am, had a lot of little breaks, spent like an hour on a big mess up, scrapped that one, and finished at 6pm!
