A shocking development has emerged in Katsina State involving Nuru Aliyu Garwa, a former Senior Special Adviser on Community Development to the Katsina State Governor.
According to reports, Nuru Aliyu Garwa recently resigned from his position in order to contest for a seat in the House of Assembly to represent his people.
The incident reportedly began on May 13th when an 8-year-old boy was abducted while returning home from a Quranic school. The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of 50 million naira from the family before negotiations allegedly reduced the amount to 17 million naira, which was eventually paid.
Following the payment, the victim’s family contacted the Violent Crime Response Unit in Katsina State, which immediately launched an investigation into the matter.
The investigation reportedly led to the arrest of six suspected kidnappers on May 23rd. Their arrest later resulted in the apprehension of another alleged member and supposed leader of the group, identified as Nuru Aliyu Garwa, on May 24th.
During a search of his residence, security operatives reportedly recovered 7.5 million naira in a Ghana-Must-Go bag, believed to be his alleged share of the ransom. Authorities also reportedly recovered a motorcycle allegedly used during operations, alongside other items linked to the case.
Investigations are still ongoing as security agencies continue their findings into the matter
