We are thrilled to let you know about the latest project we are working on.
Adam Newman and Kelvin Tsang’s 'Temple of Boom' is the NGV Architecture Commission for 2022, an evocative reimagining of The Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens.
A global architectural icon, The Parthenon, an Ancient Greek temple, is an apex symbol of Western civilisation, democracy and perfection. Temple of Boom celebrates these interpretations, while simultaneously expanding our understanding of the iconic Parthenon building and the enduring beauty it emanates.
The likeness of The Parthenon will be painted with overlapping large-scale artworks by a diverse range of Melbourne-based artists, curated by Just Another Agency, to imbue the ancient monument with further layers of meaning and drawing inspiration from the vibrant colours and artistic embellishments that defined the original building over two-thousand years ago.
The first round of artists are David Lee Pereira, Drez and Manda Lane
Next week on the 11.11.22, a hidden little haven above the iconic Vintage Garage on Smith Street is totally transformed into an in-depth and expansive journey of self-discovery, reflection and light.
Blending fine art, graffiti, introspection and entrepreneurialism; Chuck Mayfield’s signature style employs a consistent play of light and luminescence as a symbol of illumination and revelation. Chuck’s work invites the viewer to see him as not only an artist, but furthermore; as a contributor and commentator on the human condition; and in doing so – to see themselves and their place as a part of this macrocosmic experience.
For years, Chuck has created large scale works in the public sphere and for private clients, but none have been so personally reflective as this. In its entirety, this exhibition is a study of the self, of reinvention, of acceptance, and a true introduction to the person behind the artist. Vulnerability is the challenge that Mayfield explores throughout this process; allowing the audience to see into his innermost beliefs and experiences – and by doing so, provoke a multi-layered cultural, creative, gender, and social exchange.
When everything becomes too overwhelming, Chuck has turned to art. This show is a demonstration of the ethos behind Chuck’s expansive practice; reaching far beyond derivative and typical . Through his years of practice, Chuck has honed his ability to see the sacred in the day to day life of the city – and has mastered how to capture it in a momentary flash onto canvas or wall that can be remembered, redefined, and reimagined by the public eye.

Just Another and the City of Stonnington implemented Hit the Streets, a graffiti education and prevention project aimed to provide opportunities for young people to develop and showcase their aerosol art skills in a legal environment.
Over the last seven year’s the project connected Just Another’s prolific graffiti artists Dvate, Sear, Resio, Shem and Sugar to educate participants in letter form, style, technique, composition, and colour theory. The artists provided guidance and insight into the commercial world within the creative industry and mentored them as they took their concept from idea to a fully executed mural.
The educational element of the project encouraged participants from the ages of 12 to 21 to engage positively in the medium and helped reduce and prevent graffiti vandalism in targeted areas of the city.
The program concludes with two full murals painted within the City of Stonnington multiplicity.
This is mural number two for 2022.
