Today is a very special day for us and we are absolutely chuffed to be opening the Jazz and Jaffles doors once again, and for the occasion we’ve organised an extra special one for you all tonight. ✨

This night is us for you as much as it is for us, and we want to thank each and every one of you, who has come through week after week, to make Jazz and Jaffles what it is.

Tonight is our thank you, and we can hope to see you all there, final tickets are in our bio and doors are 5.00 PM 💞

Joining us for Jazz and Jaffles this Sunday we welcome Uncomfortable Science to the stage. The band will Feature members of Hiatus Kaiyote and No News for a fully improvised set of pure madness. 🌹

The concept is simple - Bandleader Lachlan Mitchell (Laneous, Vulture St Tape Gang, Harry James Angus, Jazz Party) directs an ever changing lineup of musicians through an improvised jam with just a whiteboard and a pen, shifting and contorting the foundation of each song in real time with the unpredictable brilliance of a mad scientist.

Featuring a rotating cast of familiar names from stalwart projects such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Barney McAll and S*x On Toast, Uncomfortable Science have developed a cult status in the Melbourne music scene, easily understood through witnessing the band in full flight.

Girls night in is an all female jazz collective that host a smorgasbord of performers. The group’s aim is to foster a supportive, inclusive space where female-identifying jazz musicians feel confident, heard, and creatively free. Girl night in’s constant flux of band members has fueled their expansive experimentation with sound. They’ve blended Nu Jazz and Folk creating a collaborative ensemble featuring vocals, guitar, bass, keys, drums, saxophone, strings and more. If you wanna keep up with rising female talent in the Melbourne jazz scene, keep up with Girls Night In !! 💋

JAZZ & JAFFLES • 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY 🌹

For three years, Jazz & Jaffles has been our jazz and soul dojo. A place to gather, discover new music, share hot jaffles and celebrate Melbourne’s incredible jazz, soul and groove community.

What began as a humble night at The Toff grew into a weekly ritual. A Thursday church of sorts.

After a busy season building the Jazz Doof universe, it feels like the right time to bring everyone back together.

Not on a Thursday.

On a Sunday.

Because honestly, we need it. ✨
