The Australian Performing Arts Exchange wants to get technical workforce voices into the room, with a discounted registration rate.

They are too often missing from conversations about touring, presenting, programming and sector planning, despite being central to how it all actually happens. Currently only 17% of technical managers are consulted about whether a show, production or venue hire is feasible before that work is confirmed in the booking calendar, yet 64% of venues report that they regularly have to address the fall out when a booked show doesn’t fit the venues physical dimensions, equipment or crewing capacity (and it runs both ways, 56% of venues report that incoming tours uncover fit or resourcing shortfalls in venues by the time they are already on the road).
