A proud Butchulla, Mununjali and Woppaburra woman based in Naarm/Melbourne, Janty is an award-winning comedian, nurse and midwife who brings infectious energy, humour and plenty of life experience to the stage. After winning the Deadly Funny Grand Final at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2022, Janty has performed across Australia and internationally, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with the Aboriginal Comedy All Stars.

The Indigenous Health Equity Unit at Onemda is proud to be a co-host of the One Fire, Many Flames Symposium.

organisers are excited to announce Melina Connors as a keynote speaker. Melina is a proud Gurindji woman and the inaugural First Nations Midwifery Director at Queensland Health. She brings deep cultural knowledge and lived experience to her work championing culturally safe maternity care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and babies.
