RAW Comedy Melbourne International Comedy Festival presents RAW Comedy RAW Comedy is Australia's biggest and most prestigious open mic comedy competition.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been producing it since 1996, and past RAW Comedy winners and finalists include Chris Lilley, Josh Thomas, Hannah Gadsby, Peter Helliar, Claire Hooper, Michael Workman, Mike McLeish (Keating! The Musical) and Tim Minchin. RAW Comedy runs nationally every year between January and April.

We blinked, and it's over! While we're sorry to say the RAW Comedy season for 2026 is over, we have seen so much comedic talent over the last two months and have laughed harder than ever. A huge congratulations and thanks goes out to all of our competitors, judges, venues and facilitators over the whole season. We would not be able to do it without all of you.
