ANNOUNCING OUR NEW ONLINE ARCHIVE!

It's time to come back to the theatre.

Two years ago, before our lives changed forever, we staged our last production. Ragtime, an Australian premiere, was our final show after 21 years of presenting musicals at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Today, we are delighted to announce an online archive celebrating the sixty-five musical productions we presented and the people who both created and starred in them.

Jeanne Pratt AC invites you to enjoy The Production Company’s online archive, which is now live. "What a wonderful time we've all had! I hope you enjoy revisiting the many brilliant shows we brought to Arts Centre Melbourne. Until we meet again, thank you for your support of The Production Company."

Ken Mackenzie-Forbes said, “We are understandably proud of the unique contribution we made to the musical theatre industry across twenty-one years. This online archive will enable our subscribers, sponsors, artists and creatives to relive the excitement of those years. This journey through the archives will bring back the joy and delight these memorable productions gave us all.”

Rachel D Taylor commented, “The online archive is a major resource on the company’s history. It’s a beautiful reminder of the outstanding job The Production Company did presenting and promoting Australian talent, giving Melbourne audiences the best shows for twenty-one wonderful years. The website honours our artists, creatives and collaborators with a permanent presence, long after the curtain has fallen. It was a joy to create and I think it will make people very happy."

On the HOME page, there is an icon for each musical.

· Click on an icon and see the original show announcement, the cast and creative team and enjoy a photo gallery of production images.

· Each musical page also includes a copy of the show program, providing the complete details for that production.

· Additionally, on the home page there are pull down menus featuring reviews from many shows and a history of the Pratt Prize for Musical Theatre.

Welcome to The Production Company’s Online Archive. We created this archive to celebrate the rich history of The Production Company and to feature its extraordinary achievements. Below you'll see an icon for each of the sixty-four musicals presented by

2020 UPDATE: Given the unique challenges of the current economic climate, we will not be proceeding with previously announced plans to present a musical in May.

Today, we simply want to say thank you for being part of the past 21 wonderful years.

Since 1999 we've presented 65 outstanding musicals at our home, Arts Centre Melbourne: we've laughed, cried and applauded the best of the best Australian talent, as we supported live entertainment and local artists.
So many of our current stars were given their first major roles at TPC, and boy, were they in great company performing in musicals created by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Jerry Herman, George & Ira Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, Jule Styne, Frank Loesser, Nick Enright, Peter Allen, Irving Berlin, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, David Bowie and Leonard Bernstein to name a few!

With more than a million tickets sold and thousands of jobs created, it's time to say goodbye.

Thank you to our artists, audiences, creatives, crew, musicians, makers, patrons, sponsors and subscribers. You have have been our Production Company family.

We'll see you at the theatre!
